1. What is BigPicnic.ie?

BigPicnic.ie is a website set up by Glanbia plc under the Avonmore brand to help support Barretstown the therapeutic recreation camp for children with cancer and other serious illnesses, as their designated Irish charity of choice for a three year period.

2. How much financial support are Glanbia / Avonmore aiming to raise for Barretstown?

Avonmore/Glanbia aims to promote the Big Picnic campaign to help raise as much funds as possible for Barretstown. Avonmore will match all funds raised from Big Picnic donations to the value of €250,000.

3. How do the Avonmore/Glanbia team hope to raise this financial support?

Glanbia will work using its Avonmore brand and heritage to leverage support for Barretstown through a variety of fundraising and other initiatives. The Avonmore team is committed to creating increased public awareness of Barretstown and will promote the camp on its milk packaging as well as in its high profile advertising and marketing campaigns - including the popular Weatherline television sponsorship.

4. Why have Glanbia / Avonmore chosen Barretstown as their designated Irish charity?

It has been proven that therapeutic recreation helps to rebuild confidence, trust and self esteem for both the child and their family. There fore Avonmore look forward to supporting the organisation with the objective of sending more families to Barretstown.

6. What is the Avonmore Big Picnic for Barretstown all about?

A picnic is a great outdoor occasion for children, families, friends to get together, share stories and laughs over a couple of sandwiches and a bottle of fizzy drink. This year Avonmore hope that hundreds of picnics will take place across Ireland during the summer to create one Big Picnic with one single purpose: to raise much needed funds for Barretstown.

7. How does the Avonmore Big Picnic raise money for Barretstown?

It's simple! All you need to do is to invite your friends and family to your own Big Picnic and ask all your guests to make a small donation to Barretstown. Indoors or outdoors we hope that families and friends will be having Big Picnics all over Ireland this summer to raise money for Barretstown.

8. Where can I hold my picnic?

Anywhere and everywhere! You can hold your picnic absolutely anywhere - indoors, outdoors, in the garden, at your school, at your workplace, a local park, the possibilities are endless!

9. Do I need invitations?

We have included invitations as part of our pack for you to invite your family and friends to your picnic. Alternatively you can send emails through our website - www.bigpicnic.ie - to invite them to your Big Picnic.

10. How much should people give?

We are incredibly grateful for all donations, big or small. And don't forget you could also hold games or competitions at your Big Picnic to raise more money, helping send more families to Barretstown.

12. I can't hold a Big Picnic, can I still make a donation?

Yes! Simply return to our website - www.bigpicnic.ie - or call 1850 927 875 and you can make a much appreciated donation directly to Barretstown.
